If you could change one thing that happened last year what would it be?

I wouldn't have cancelled my planned anniversary trip for things that came up for work.

I requested the day off months in advance (way before the said meeting was even being thought of). I even wrote it on the calendar on my office wall.

Wouldn't you know it, after them insisting how important it was for me to be at a job meeting, I cancelled the trip and went to the meeting instead. Three weeks later they laid me off.

I'd say that was a bit of a dick move on their part.
